The results of A.Sh. Revishvili's scientific research were used in the creation of the latest generation of implantable cardioverter-defibrillators, which are widely used for the prevention of sudden cardiac death in many countries of the world.

Based on the study of the electrophysiological mechanisms of atrial fibrillation, Academician Revishvili proposed a new approach to the prevention and treatment of this type of cardiac arrhythmia.
